Appleleaf Accountancy are delighted to welcome Emma Hutchinson to the team. As the client base continues to grow, Emma started supporting the team in spring this year and has now joined on a permanent basis working on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Emma has a background in finance and is currently studying for her Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) professional qualification.
Out of work Emma is a keen walker and recently took part in a 40km charity walk in the Peak District.
Emma explained, “On Saturday 1 June a team including two close friends and my mum, joined me to walk 40km over the Peak District for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, a cause which is very close to our hearts. To ensure we were ready for the challenge and would complete it in within the required time of 14 hours, we embarked on a three month training plan to prepare us for the walk.
“On the day we started at 6am and within the first two miles we had to walk up Mam Tor which was hard going on uneven surfaces. Once we reached the peak the clouds came in and we couldn’t see anything around us, but once we started to make our descent the clouds cleared and the sunshine came out, this then did make the walk harder in some places as we were out in the elements with no cover.
“We also got caught out at one point when the heavens opened and we got soaked, so we saw all weathers but it was part of the fun I guess. However, the views were amazing all day and this kept up our spirits when the going got tough. We finally finished at 6.15pm and was delighted to complete the walk in just over 12 hours. We also raised an amazing £1,258 for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust which we were thrilled to bits with and we also raised awareness of the great work the charity does.
